Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge
What a week. I've been out shooting the Adventure Challenge with a mate of mine for a coffee table book we're producing. Early starts, long days but brilliant fun. Got some nice shots. I'm going through them now and will post some up here as soon as.

hair 3
Experimenting with some movement and using lights fired directly at the camera. I like the flare you get from the strobes plus the way it lights the moving hair.

I've updated my website a little. Stripped out some images and made the navigation simple. I'm using slideshow pro and so far it seems pretty easy to use.

sunrise
I looked out the window this morning and saw this. It's times like this I wish I lived on the edge of the desert and not in the middle of a development. I had to crop the hell out of this pic to remove the villa next door and the pylons but the sky was to good to pass up. With sunrises you've just got to catch the moment. Well here goes another day.

Desert ride
Was out in the desert this weekend taking pics of these guys jumping off dunes on their Honda CRF 450s. Very good fun, plus it gave me an excuse to take the Landy into the dunes.

kick
Been hanging out with my brother and cousin who are also photographers. It's been great just mucking about taking pics of each other and figuring out some new techniques. We've been getting some funny looks from folk as we jump up and down like dafties but who cares, we're getting good results.
Going to do a shoot down at a trampoline centre soon. Can't wait for the results.

Foggy Dubai
Shot this pic last month when we had a lot of fog around. It was from the balcony of my old flat, looking out towards Sheik Zayed Road. I think the buildings are going to be part of the huge Business Bay development.
I just like the way that they appear out of the fog below them.

Empty Spaces
While I was doing the school shoot I snapped a few 'empty spaces' shots for myself. I really have a thing about spaces that should usually be filled with people or activity being totally empty. There are more shots over here on flickr but I thought I'd put a couple up here too.

Radio silence
Well it's been a while since I last posted. The reason for this is my wife gave birth to our second son 3 days after the last post and it's been a bit hectic since then. Couple that with a house move and you get the general idea. Things have settled down now so I expect to have some new stuff to put up here soon.
I'm doing a couple of courses at Gulf Photo Plus at the moment. Here in Dubai you don't often get the chance to do a lot of training so when this comes around I snap it up. I've done a course with Seattle based photographer Chase Jarvis which was great and I'm in the middle of one with Strobist aka David Hobby. It's so inspiring spending time with these guys and picking up some great tips too.
I finished a job recently shooting pics at a couple of schools here for their prospectus. Once I get the printed sample through I'll snap some pics of it and post them up here.
